Ramsey Challenge

Horrible injury to the lad granted but....

Having watched it quite a few times, I'm not sure he gets sent off if the referee doesn't realise the extent of the injury?

The Vidic decision today was laughable (and i'm a united fan). How can the referee NOT send him off??

Yeah it was only when he saw the injury that he sent Shawcross off, he was just a bit late thats all. These things happen.

I think Wenger wants football to become a none contact sport.

With regards Vidic I think the only reason he didn't get sent off was because it was so early in the game. I think the referees should be encouraged to keep the players on the pitch, sendings off can ruin games.

are you for real John? Ruins the game for who? I'm sure the Villa players/ fans are chuffed he stayed on the pitch. There is a definite divide to the decisions Man U get and what other clubs get, and I just can't understand why.

Its such a bad argument. If it a sending off in the 60th minute, then tell me why it isn't at any other point in the match.

What is the thinking of not even giving a yellow? Mind boggling. I mean if he gives a yellow maybe he can say well a player was coming back etc and have some sort of way of defending himself. But to not even book? WTF?

Once again we come away from a game with the ref having more to do with the result than the players.

Wenger is just probably sick of seeing his players hacked to death only for the refs to constantly let things go until it goes too far. Seen it so many times now.

Foreign impartial refs would help.

They went 1-0 up man, it is theirs to throw away then, and they did with poor defending for the equaliser. I as a neutral don't want to see attack vs defence for 85 minutes, obviously if I was a Villa fan I would want to see him sent off.

I think it shouldn't make a difference when the foul happens. I think the ref bottled it...

Man U are good enough not to need that help, the ref completely bottled it, but we kind of knew he would. No booking at all is what confused me. Are these ref accountable for their decisions, because that one wasn't difficult. It just makes me feel it not a fair playing field.

As a neutral you want to see the correct decisions being made through out the game. You can't say well "best let him off this one" because it will make for a better game - that is nonsense. If it was a one off then fair enough but I can look back in my posts and see myself saying the same thing when Man U have been involved only a few months back. All coincidence? I doubt it.

I heard a pundit once saying that what he would like to see was the player getting sent off if the side misses the penalty,, and if the side scores the penalty the offending player would get to stay on the pitch, so basically delaying the decision till after the penalty has been taken. I cant see anything like that ever happening but I do think that a penalty is often enough punishment.

the rules are there for a reason but this ref decides they are not applicable. He should not ref in the EPL again this season, he has to be accountable. It has clearly cost Villa a chance of a trophy.

Like I said, if you book Vidic then at least you have some grounds for argument but to do nothing. Its stinks, and is bad for football. I don't care if its Arsenal, Chelsea or Barnet or Stevenage Boro - the decision should be the same.
